I had to go visit my shoe cobbler last week and as he is downtown, I felt like dressing up! For some reason, every time I go downtown, I want to take my outfit up a notch! The weather was still pretty cold (-25) but I didn't care! I think this is my new favourite outfit!
We've been pretty lucky with the weather in Edmonton lately but not too long ago, we experienced a typical cold spell. To stay warm, cozy jackets, boots and scarves are essential!! It also doesn't hurt to have a Starbucks coffee in hand either! What I wore: J.Crew Cashmere Sweater; 7 For All Mankind Jeans; Aldo Boots; Forever 21 Jacket; H&M Scarf; Lord & Taylor Cashmere Gloves; Céline Bag
Recently, I attended the musical Flashdance with my mom and I took it as an opportunity to get a little creative with my outfit! Usually when I go to the theatre, I wear a dress and heels but it's winter in Edmonton and I was feeling the 80s vibes so I took a cue from the movie/musical and wore my best modern take on the 80s Flashdance style! Here I am, wearing an off-the-shoulder sweater, leather pants and a vibrant clutch :)
Today, I spent my afternoon browsing through Vogue, In Style, People Style Watch, Porter and Fashion magazines and got the urge to do some online shopping! I've created a "Fall Wish List" of the items I want to purchase this season! First on the list? Over-the-Knee boots! I'm in love with both of these Jimmy Choo versions!! Next up? A new handbag. I've been eyeing the Céline bag for some time now and plan to hunt one down on my next trip down to the United States. The Saint Laurent bag recently caught my eye on Instagram as well, though, and now I can't decide which I love more! Finally, I love the rich colour of this new Michael Kors bag and the price is right for a fun bag like this! Finally, cozy sweaters! Specifically, cashmere sweaters!! They are so soft and comfy and they go with anything from jeans to leather pants to dress pants to skirts. I love the rich red colour of the J. Crew versions and I've been on the hunt for a top in this colour; it's perfect for fall and the holiday season! I'm also a sucker for grey and white clothes, however, Uniqlo currently does not ship to Canada so I'll have to make a trip down south to shop for these. That's all for now! Fingers crossed that these goodies will find my closet soon!!
I got my first pair of Christian Louboutins (and in fact, my first pair of designer shoes) in June. It was an online purchase, made on a whim! I had found an amazing pair of patent leather, sky blue Manolo Blahniks, on sale, and when I showed my fiancé, he told me to buy them. I was in shock that he would OK a $595 pair of shoes on a whim but after considering his offer, I said that I wanted my first pair of designer shoes to be a "neutral" pair of Christian Louboutins. With my fiancé's OK, I decided to order a pair of black kid leather So Kates instead. When they arrived, I decided that they were far from being "neutral"; they were the sexiest pair of shoes that I had ever put on my feet! They inspire me to dress up more often, even if it's simply pairing heels with jeans to make an outfit a little more classy. After having this babies for just a month, I took a trip to New York City (more on the trip in a travel blog post!). Boy, did I get spoiled there! We went to the Christian Louboutin boutique on Madison Avenue and it was so spectacular, it was as if we were visiting a museum! You had to ring a bell to enter the store and a security guard came to let us in. It was quite daunting but I felt confident knowing that I already had a pair of these precious shoes at home! At the boutique, I tried on a gorgeous pair of boots and it was love at first sight! I walked out of the store and down Madison Avenue carrying my second pair of Louboutins, the Fiffi Botta boots! I couldn't wait for fall so that I could wear them! My third pair of Christian Louboutins arrived in the mail as I was writing this post. Here's the first peek at them! They're the Fifi ankle boots, perfect for fall :)
