Peter and I took a quick trip to Vegas right before Christmas and I want to share my experience of Vegas in December!
We weren't in Vegas for an hour and my man had already purchased me a Céline bag! We dropped off our luggage at our hotel (Treasure Island) and then we made our way to the Grand Canal Shoppes for dinner. On our way for dinner, I asked to quickly peak into Barneys and twenty minutes later, we emerged with my new bag! I think I'm the luckiest girl alive because Peter seems to enjoy buying me designer bags and shoes!! After this purchase, we decided to have dinner at Johnny Rockets! Classy, I know, but there's something about their burgers and shakes that are so irresistible!!
Next up, we hit the slot machines and for those who know me, I'm a very conservative gambler. I throw $20 into a slot machine and play minimum bets while soaking up the free liquor! I had been playing for quite a bit (with no bonuses) and Peter urged me to place one bet at the maximum bet ($4 maybe?). Well, I got the bonus and ended up winning $132! I cashed out right afterwards! We also decided to try our hand at Roulette this trip as I had never played before and I must say, it is my new preferred method of gambling! We sat down at the table and when we finally decided to go to bed, we realized that we had been playing for 6 hours straight!! All in all, we didn't win a whole lot of money gambling but I'm pretty sure we broke even and we definitely had a lot of fun!
On the Saturday night, we attended my first boxing match! Peter is really into the sport and though I've never been a fan, I went to the fight with him and really enjoyed myself! It was fun to dress up and attend the event and I surprisingly enjoyed the fights as well. I have a feeling that this was just the first of many fights that I will be attending!
It was also NFR week (National Finals Rodeo) so for all of you country music fans, this would be a great week to hit Vegas! We attended the above mentioned boxing match at MGM Grand and as we were corralled out of the Garden Arena, we stumbled upon an amazing country music act that was opening for the Randy Rogers Band! Best part of all, it was free!! Only in Vegas can you leave a boxing match and stumble upon a country music concert in the very same hotel! I wish I would have looked up the concert schedule ahead of time, as we missed some great performers, including Randy Houser and Alabama!
We didn't go clubbing at all this trip but we did find a cute little spot that we loved in the New York New York casino! They had delicious sangrias and bulldogs for a reasonable price and we loved the vibe of the casino (NYC is my favourite city)!
Though we did eat at several good restaurants, I failed miserably at taking pictures of the food! My favourites, however, were The Cheesecake Factory in the Forum Shops and Koi (a Japanese restaurant) in the Planet Hollywood casino. I would go back to both for sure!
Being the fashionista that I am, my favourite part of the trip was the shopping! My favourite shops are the Canal Shoppes, the Shops at Crystals and the Forum Shops! I already mentioned my big Céline purchase at Barneys but I also got lucky at the Saint Laurent store!
Overall, the trip was a success! I do prefer Vegas in the summer as I love warm weather and lounging by the pools, however, this was a fun getaway and I would go again in a heartbeat!
